OutPal Terms of Service
Effective date: 15 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and OutPal technologies L.L.C S.O.C, a company in the United Arab Emirates ("we", "us") governing your use of the OutPal app. By creating an account or using OutPal you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use OutPal.
1. The service
OutPal helps groups plan outings: shared event details, group chat, optional live location sharing, availability statuses, packing lists, polls, and shared expense records. Features may change as the app evolves.
2. Eligibility and accounts
- OutPal is only for people aged 18 or over. You must be at least 18 years old to use OutPal.
- You are responsible for your account credentials and for everything done through your account. Keep your password secure; we recommend enabling two-factor authentication in settings.
- Provide accurate account information. Impersonating another person is prohibited.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or abuse other users, including in outing chats. OutPal chats are private group spaces, not a shield for abuse.
- Post content that is illegal, infringing, hateful, sexually exploitative, or that violates another person's privacy (including sharing someone's location or personal details without their consent).
- Enter deliberately false expense records or manipulate shared expense data to mislead other members. Expense entries you create should honestly reflect what was paid.
- Misuse location features, including using OutPal to monitor a person without their knowledge and consent.
- Attempt to probe, disrupt, or gain unauthorised access to the service, other users' data, or our infrastructure; scrape the service; or reverse engineer it except where the law permits.
- Use OutPal for spam or unsolicited commercial messaging.
We may remove content or restrict features that violate these rules.
4. Your content
- You keep ownership of the content you post (messages, photos, outing details, expense records).
- You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display your content solely as needed to operate the service, for example, showing your message to the other members of the outing you posted it in.
- You are responsible for your content and must have the rights to share it (including photos of other people).
- Content you share into a group (messages, expenses) is visible to that group's members and may remain visible to them, in anonymised or attributed-to-deleted-user form, after you delete your account, so their own records stay intact.
5. Expenses disclaimer
OutPal's expense feature is a shared ledger of IOUs between outing members. OutPal:
- is NOT a payment processor, money transmitter, bank, or escrow service;
- does not move, hold, or guarantee any money;
- does not verify the accuracy of amounts users enter;
- is not a party to, and bears no responsibility for, any debt between users or its settlement.
Marking an expense "settled" in OutPal only updates the shared record; any actual payment happens entirely outside OutPal between the users involved. Expense records are not financial, tax, or legal advice.
6. Location sharing
Live location sharing and availability statuses are optional and controlled by you. You are responsible for deciding when to share your location and with which outings. Do not rely on OutPal location data for safety-critical purposes; positions may be delayed, approximate, or unavailable.
7. Termination
- You may stop using OutPal at any time and may request deletion of your account by email to legal@outpal.ae (see outpal.ae/delete-account). Requests are handled by hand within 30 days.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, create risk for other users, or abuse the service, with or without notice depending on severity.
- Sections that by their nature should survive termination (your content license as applied to remaining group records, disclaimers, liability limits, governing law) survive.
8. Disclaimers
OutPal is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-interruption, or error-free operation. Outings are organised by users; we are not responsible for anything that happens at or because of an outing.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OutPal technologies L.L.C S.O.C will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of OutPal. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the last twelve months or AED 100. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Changes to the service or terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will notify you in the app before they take effect; continued use after that means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and disputes are subject to the courts of the Emirate of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections of your place of residence.
